The book launch lecture and talk concert on regulatory rationalization for “In the Age of the Great AI Transformation, How Should Regulation Evolve?” was held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in Pureun Hall.
This event examined the deepening phenomenon of regulatory delay in this era of major AI and digital transformation, and discussed together the direction of “better regulation” that evolves with the times rather than simply reducing regulations.
In Part 1, Woohyun Shim, Head of the Planning and Coordination Division at the Korea Institute of Public Administration, delivered a lecture on the regulatory reform efforts and limitations of previous governments, the OECD’s regulatory reform strategy, and the need for an agile and flexible regulatory system.
In the following Part 2 talk concert, Jeongwon Park, Professor in the Department of Public Administration at Gyeongguk National University, served as moderator, while Woohyun Shim, Head of the Planning and Coordination Division, and Seul Lee, Co-Chair of the Council for Telemedicine Industry, took part in an in-depth discussion on the practical challenges of regulatory rationalization through specific cases such as non-face-to-face medical treatment.
Thank you to everyone who participated.
