The Center for Free Enterprise (CFE) held a commemorative event for the exhibition Faces of Freedom and Prosperity to reflect on the meaning of the prosperity created by liberal thought and entrepreneurship.
This exhibition was designed to spotlight both Western liberal scholars who laid the intellectual foundations of freedom and the entrepreneurs who put those ideas into practice in the real economy and led the industrial development of the Republic of Korea. In Pureun Hall, portraits of leading Western thinkers representing liberalism—including Ludwig von Mises, F. A. Hayek, and Milton Friedman—were displayed alongside portraits of iconic entrepreneurs who symbolize Korea’s economic growth, such as Jooyoung Chung, Byungchul Lee, and Jonghyun Choi.
In addition, The Road to Freedom and Prosperity, a work that symbolizes the Center for Free Enterprise (CFE), was displayed together with the portraits, symbolically illustrating how the value of freedom does not remain confined to ideas alone but leads to prosperity for society as a whole through entrepreneurship and the dynamism of the market.
The Center for Free Enterprise (CFE) will continue to highlight, in various ways, the achievements made possible by the values of freedom and the principles of the market economy, and will persist in creating a public forum that connects ideas with reality.
