2026 New Year Conversation Concert

The 2026 New Year Dialogue Concert, “The Meeting of Legalist Philosophy and Law and Economics,” was held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

This meaningful dialogue, which offered a joint perspective on law and economics and Legalist philosophy, concluded successfully. Centering on Western law and economics and Eastern Legalist thought, the discussion explored in depth a realistic view of human nature and the principles of institutional design. Although the two traditions originated from different intellectual backgrounds, they engaged in a substantive exchange on themes directly connected to today’s institutions and policies.

In particular, this dialogue went beyond philosophical reflection and examined how we should understand human nature and the role of institutions, as well as what significance these ideas still hold today. The insights generated through the intersection of ideas from different civilizations offered a new perspective on institutions and policy.

A profound discussion was made possible thanks to the two speakers who joined us despite their busy schedules and to all the participants who brightened the event with their presence. We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who took part.
