The Personal Information Protection Commission is recently seeking to strengthen the standard for imposing administrative fines for violations of the Personal Information Protection Act from 3% of “sales related to the violating act” to 3% of “total sales.” In response, the Center for Free Enterprise (CFE) plans to hold a discussion on ways to rationalize the level of corporate penalties for violations of the Personal Information Protection Act, and we ask for your interest and participation.
