Introducing the Liberalism Introductory Reading Discussion Group

This is a reading and discussion group that was spontaneously formed by people interested in modern and contemporary Korean history and liberalism.

The group is run in a format where we select one introductory book on liberalism or a variety of general-interest books each month, read them individually, then gather to discuss them freely.

Separately, for those who are interested, we also hold an advanced study course as a biweekly meeting. Currently, we are in the 3rd series of The Road to Serfdom.

Since our group was formed on 2019.3.8, we have read and discussed the following books:

01. The Russo-Japanese War and Changes in Northeast Asia (Sunghwa Jung) 2019.3.28

02. Pathetic Joseon (Soyoung Moon) 2019.4.30

03. Margaret Thatcher biography and film screening 2019.7.23

04. The Conscience of a Conservative (Barry Goldwater) 2019.7.23

05. The Road to Serfdom (Hayek) 1st series 2019.5.21 / 5.28 / 6.18 // 2nd series 8.16 / 8.26 / 9.17 / 10.1 / 10.15 / 10.29 // 3rd series 11.16 /...

06. The Vitality of Political Parties (Jihyang Park) 2019.8.27 / 9.19

07. Why Are People Enthralled by Leftist Thinking? (Byungho Kong) 2019.10.31

08. The Spirit of Independence (Syngman Rhee) 2019.11.25

Starting with the 3rd series of The Road to Serfdom and The Spirit of Independence, we have been uploading the discussion content to YouTube.
