The Right Choice to Invest in Freedom

We must invest in freedom.

We must reclaim the freedom that is gradually being forgotten. The reality is that rather than pursuing precious values, we are preoccupied only with the tasks right in front of us. In Hayek’s *The Constitution of Liberty*, there is the following passage:

The developed countries we know grew on the basis of freedom. Over time, they forgot the values that had bestowed glory upon them. Only populist policies remained. Countries seeking development, instead of learning how advanced nations earned money, learned only how they spent it.

Our country has the strength to achieve a level of growth rarely found elsewhere. Although social conflict has recently run rampant because of misguided policies, South Korea can fully overcome it through the restoration of freedom. In the past, we learned the secrets of growth from advanced countries, but now we are the first country in the world to pass on the methods of success to others. This great experience is proof that we are moving toward becoming a nation of freedom. We must protect it well.

In the end, the answer is freedom.

Through the restoration of freedom, we can realize even greater dreams.

Freedom is not free. We must invest in freedom.
