Book Concert Celebrating the Publication of

The government continues its efforts to promote eco-friendly vehicles such as electric cars and hydrogen vehicles in order to protect the environment. To achieve the goal of carbon neutrality, domestic automakers are paying fines amounting to billions of won when they emit large amounts of greenhouse gases or fail to sell enough electric vehicles. Is there really no solution to environmental problems other than the government’s unilateral approach of mandates and quotas?

Ronald Coase, a Nobel laureate in economics, came up with the groundbreaking and distinctive system of emissions trading for greenhouse gases. To commemorate the publication of , the Center for Free Enterprise (CFE) examined Coase’s unique solution to environmental regulation. It was an opportunity to explore how trade and competition can solve problems efficiently.
