This seminar examined how the Korean Wave has expanded beyond a cultural phenomenon centered on dramas and K-pop into a wide range of fields, including film, games, webtoons, food, fashion, and tourism, and is growing into a distinct industrial sector known as the K-culture industry. In particular, a key focus was that K-culture goes beyond content exports alone and generates forward and backward spillover effects that lead to increased exports of consumer goods, growth in inbound tourism, enhancement of the national image, and expansion of related service industries. In addition, it was suggested that for the sustainable growth of the K-culture industry, it is necessary to clearly define the scope of the industry and statistical standards, strengthen content competitiveness, protect intellectual property rights, expand global cooperation, and appropriately divide the roles of the private sector and the government.
